What we count
The KPIs for your program are set in the campaign plan before launch, based on what you want the team to do. A sampling program is measured on units handed out and conversations. A lead program is measured on leads captured. Every program is measured on whether the team was where it was booked to be, for the hours it was booked.
| Metric | How it's captured in the field | How it's checked |
|---|---|---|
| Staff on site and hours | Each team member checks in and out through our GPS-enabled mobile app. | The check-in records location and time, so show-up and hours are verified rather than self-reported. |
| Locations covered | GPS check-ins at each booked location, plus field photos. | Matched against the locations in the approved plan. |
| Consumer interactions | Logged by staff during the shift. | Reviewed with the recap. If a figure is an estimate, the recap labels it as an estimate. |
| Samples or items distributed | Tracked by the team for programs that hand out product, coupons or collateral. | Reported as units distributed for each shift and location. |
| Leads captured | Collected by the team when the program includes lead capture. | Delivered with the recap as a count, plus the lead data where your program collects it. |
| Photos | Taken by staff in the field to the photo spec in your program brief. | Reviewed before delivery. On programs that need it, photos are approved before the crew leaves each location. |
| Field notes | Written in each staffer's recap and summarized by the team lead. | Reviewed by our team before the recap goes to you. |
The method, step by step
Agree the KPIs before launch
Your campaign plan includes a KPI framework matched to your goals. For sampling, that's units distributed and consumer interactions. For lead generation, it's leads captured. Staff training covers how to record each one, so the numbers mean the same thing on every shift and in every market.
Capture it in the field
The team checks in by GPS at the start of the shift and checks out at the end. During the shift they log interactions, track what they hand out, collect leads if the program calls for it, and shoot photos to the program's spec.
At the end of the shift each staffer submits a recap with their counts, photos and notes on what they saw: crowd, questions people asked, and feedback on the product.
Check it before it reaches you
- Attendance: GPS check-in and check-out confirm who was on site, where, and for how long.
- Photos: checked against the photo spec, with duplicates removed before delivery.
- Recaps: read by our team before they're sent, so you get a clean, client-ready report.
- Counts: reported as logged, with estimates labelled as estimates.
Deliver it to you
End-of-day report: for each campaign day, a summary with hours worked, locations covered, consumer interactions, samples distributed, leads captured, photos from the field and notes from the team lead.
Post-campaign report: after the program wraps, your account manager rolls the days up against the KPIs in your plan, with cost per interaction and cost per lead worked out from the delivered counts and the program cost, market-by-market comparisons, and recommendations for the next run.
Sample recap layout
This is the shape of an end-of-day report. Every value below is a placeholder. It is not from a real program and shows no client data.
End-of-day recap: Brand name street team
| Location | Check-in / out (GPS) | Interactions | Samples | Leads |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| [Location A] | [HH:MM] / [HH:MM] | [###] | [###] | [##] |
| [Location B] | [HH:MM] / [HH:MM] | [~###] (estimate) | [###] | [##] |
Team lead notes: [Crowd and foot traffic. Questions people asked. Product feedback heard. Anything to change for the next shift.]

What we don't claim
- No ROI multiples. We don't promise a multiple of your spend back from a street team program, before or after it runs.
- No guaranteed sales lift. A recap shows field activity. It doesn't prove purchases unless you have tracking that connects the two.
- An interaction is not a customer. We report interactions, samples and leads as what they are, and don't relabel them as conversions or sales.
- No results before the program runs. We agree KPIs with you up front, but we don't promise what the counts will be.
- No precision we don't have. When an interaction count is an estimate, the recap says it's an estimate.
If you want to connect field activity to business results, we'll help you set up tracking such as coupon codes, QR codes, app downloads or website visits, and we'll report what that tracking shows. The result comes from the tracking, not from us.
Frequently asked questions
What does Street Teams Co count on a street team program?
We count what the team can see and record in the field: staff check-in and check-out by GPS, consumer interactions, samples or other items handed out, leads captured when the program collects them, and field photos. The KPIs for your program are agreed in the campaign plan before launch, so the recap reports against the goals you set.
How do you know the team actually showed up and worked the location?
Every team member checks in and out through our GPS-enabled mobile app, which records where and when each shift started and ended. Field photos back up the recap, and on programs that need it we set a photo spec and approve the photos before the crew leaves a location.
When do I see the results?
You receive an end-of-day report for each campaign day, with hours worked, locations covered, counts, photos and team-lead notes. After the program wraps, your account manager delivers a post-campaign report that rolls the days up against the KPIs in your plan.
Are interaction counts exact?
Interaction counts are logged by the staff in the field. Where a count is an estimate rather than a tally, the recap says so. Counts of things you can reconcile, like samples or leads, are the stronger numbers, and we report each figure as what it is.
Do you guarantee ROI or sales lift?
No. We don't promise ROI multiples or a sales lift. We report what happened in the field, and if you want to connect that activity to business results we help set up tracking such as coupon codes, QR codes, app downloads or website visits, and we report what that tracking shows.
